AJIACO

 

Delicious soup, typical of cundiboyacense altiplano. It is made with chicken, creole potato, potato sabanera, pastusa potato, corn and guascas. Apart capers, cream, avocado and rice are served, each person is served to your liking.

PORIDGE (FRITANGO)

Beef rib soup, often murillo, green onions, green peas, beans, carrots, potatoes pastusa creole potato, corn flour, garlic, salt, pepper and cumin. It is served with white rice.

STEW SANTAFEREÑO (PUCHERO SANTAFEREÑO)

It is a dish of Bogota origin and is made with meat, potato sabanera, pastusa, cassava, plantain and sweet corn. Bathing with hot hogao and garnish with cabbage leaves. 

 SANCOCHO DE GALLINA

Soup consumed in all regions of the country, made with chicken, potatoes, cassava and plantains. Serve with white rice. 

 SOBRE BARRIGA CON PAPAS CHORRIADAS

It is a fibrous tasty meat covered with a layer of fat that gives a delicious flavor. It is served with potatoes "chorriadas" with a hogao made with scallions, garlic, tomatoes and spices. 

TAMAL BOGOTANO

 

The tamal is a cornmeal mixed with meat, chicken, sausage, pork ribs, beans, scallions, garlic, salt and spices. It is wrapped in banana leaves, tied with twine and steamed. Its preparation has variations in different regions of the country. In Bogotá usually served with a cup of hot chocolate.

-JORGE ELIECER GAITAN-
(1903-1948)

Jorge Eliecer Gaitan was a politician during 1935 to the 1948, he was running for the presidence and the statistics showed he would win,but he was assesinated in April 9 of 1948 by Juan Roa Sierra. He was importan because he helped the poor people in Bogotá.

-POLICARPA SALAVARRIETA-

Was a hero of the independence of Colombia. Also known as la Pola, acted as a spy for the independence forces of the nascent republic during the period called ‘’La patria Boba’’ and died firing squad during the Spanish Reconquista. It is considered to Pola as a martyr and as a symbol of freedom.

-LUIS CARLOS GALAN- 

Luis Carlos Galan Sarmiento ( September 29, 1943 -  August 18, 1989 ) was a lawyer, economist, journalist and Colombian politician , candidate for President of Colombia in 1982 by the New Liberalism ( political movement founded by him dissolved when returned to the Liberal Party) and in 1990 by the Colombian Liberal Party .

(Bogotá, October 24, 1960 , August 13, 1999 )

Jaime Hernando Garzón Forero  was a lawyer , educator , comedian , actor , broadcaster, journalist, politician , political activist , activist and mediator of the Colombian peace . In his work on television and radio his role as peace negotiator added His entry into the national media would do a recognized character and the pioneer of political humor on television colombiana.. On 13 August 1999 he was finally killed by two gunmen near Radionet studies where he worked .

-CHORRO DE QUEVEDO-

The chorro de quevedo is an important place , because it was a military station founded by Gonzalo Jimenez de Quesada and acquired by Agustino Quevedo who founded a public fountain in the year 1832.

-LA CASA DEL FLORERO DE LLORENTE-

It is a traditional Bogotan house that is used as a Colombian museum of history. It is an important place because in this house the ''criollos'' did the independece cry, that is one of the most inportant events before the independence.

-MANUELITA SAENZ HOUSE-

It is a museum of textile material of Colombian colonial style, it was founded in the year 1972. It is important, because it shows the culture of acient Bogotá people.

-BOLIVAR SQUARE-

The Bolivar square is a very important place in Bogotá city, because here there where so many cultural, political and religious events.
